神奈川県在住の Senior Site Reliability Engineer、東口和暉（Kazuki Higashiguchi）です。カナダ・オタワに本社を置き、175カ国以上の事業者にコマースプラットフォームを提供する Shopify で、日本からリモートで働いています。
所属する Platform SRE チームは北米・EMEA・APAC にまたがるグローバル分散チームで、プラットフォームのレジリエンシ向上を担っています。インシデント管理、カオスエンジニアリング、データベース信頼性、オブザーバビリティの改善などが主な業務です。
技術カンファレンスやイベントへの登壇も好きで、オーストラリアで開催された SRECon 22 Asia/Pacific をはじめ、英語圏のイベントでもちょくちょく登壇していましたが、最近は出不精です。
過去にこの番組にも出演した Koji とは大学時代からの友人で、彼の紹介で London Tech Talk に登場するようになりました。
最近は2023年生まれの息子と一緒に、子育てという名の修羅場に向き合いながら、生き延びる日々。
グローバルな環境で働き続けることを大事にしつつ、英語圏への移住もぼんやり視野に入れています。
I'm Kazuki Higashiguchi, a Senior Site Reliability Engineer based in Kanagawa, Japan. I work remotely at Shopify, a commerce platform headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, serving merchants in over 175 countries.
I'm on the Platform SRE team, a globally distributed team spanning North America, EMEA, and APAC, focused on platform resiliency. My work covers incident management, chaos engineering, database reliability, and observability improvements.
I used to enjoy speaking at tech conferences and community events, including SRECon 22 Asia/Pacific held in Australia, though I've been more of a homebody lately.
I was introduced to London Tech Talk by my longtime friend Koji, who also appeared on the show previously. We've known each other since our university days.
These days, I'm also deep in the trenches of raising my son, who was born in 2023. Parenthood is its own kind of SRE challenge!
I'm committed to continuing to work in a global environment, and relocating to an English-speaking country is somewhere on my radar too.
